Maitake mushroom is a fungus that has been eaten as food in Asia for thousands
of years. People also use it to make medicine. Fungus Maitake translated from Japanese means "Dancing mushroom." There are several versions of this name. According to one of them, it is associated with the bizarre shape of the fruit bodies, which resemble fluttering butterflies. On the other hand, the man who found the mushroom danced with joy, anticipating a massive reward for those times, since in ancient times it was given as much silver for its weight, and Maitake sometimes about a giant size - over 50 cm in diameter and up to 4 kg in weight. There is also information that in antiquity it was considered - before ripping the found fruit bodies, it was necessary to perform a ritual dance. Otherwise, the fungus will lose its healing properties.
